What if it doesn't fit? Size Exchanges

If your item doesn't fit perfectly, we want to help you get into the right size as quickly as possible. The most efficient way to process a size exchange is our Reorder & Return system.

1. Is My Item Eligible for a Size Exchange?

Before proceeding, please verify the production status of your item:

Eligible for Size Exchange:

  • Ready-to-Ship (Stock & Outlet): Any item marked for next-day delivery.
  • Standard Made-to-Order (Plain Black Leather Only): Standard sizes ordered with absolutely zero alterations, tweaks, or custom instructions.

Strictly Final Sale (NOT Eligible for Exchange):

  • Personalised Items: If you used the "Special Instructions" box at checkout to request specific colours, tweaks, hardware changes, or measurement adjustments, your item was handcrafted exclusively to your personal specifications. Under UK law, personalised items are strictly final sale.
  • Coloured, White, or Perforated Black Leathers: Due to the extreme scarcity and bespoke nature of these specific hides, we cannot offer remakes, swaps, or size exchanges on these items under any circumstances.

2. The Fast Exchange Procedure: Reorder & Return

To ensure you get your replacement size swiftly and securely without waiting weeks for manual processing, we operate a three-step exchange system:

Step 1: Secure Your New Size

Place a fresh order online for the correct size immediately. This guarantees the item is instantly locked into our production queue or secured on our rails before it sells out, and covers your new outward postage.

Step 2: Log Your Return & Post It Back

Email jules@luxtenebrae.com with your order number to notify us of your exchange. Unannounced packages will be rejected by the studio.

  • Items must be in pristine, unworn, and unwashed condition. Please ensure all garments are tried on over undergarments for hygiene.
  • Package your item securely in a padded envelope and send it to the studio address provided in our email reply.
⚠️ POSTAGE WARNING: You are solely responsible for ensuring the correct postage rate and weight are paid. Lux Tenebrae will not pay release fees for underpaid postage. If a package arrives with outstanding fees, it will be left with the carrier to be returned to sender.

Step 3: Receive Your Product Credit

Once your original item arrives back at the studio and passes our quality inspection, we will issue a direct product credit for the item back to your original payment method (subject to a deduction of our standard 4.5% Shopify/bank transaction fee).


3. International Exchanges (Outside the UK)

If you are shipping your exchange from outside the United Kingdom, you must fill out your customs declaration (CN22 or CN23 form) precisely as follows:

  • Clearly write: "UK RETURN — GOODS RETURNING TO MANUFACTURER"
  • Declare a commercial value of: £5

If these instructions are not followed precisely, the package will incur steep import duties at the UK border, will be automatically rejected, and will be returned to you by the courier.
