Upcycling - a quick word about our responsible and sustainable leather.
The gorgeous leather that we use at Lux is entirely a by-product of the food industry. Without this kind of brilliant upcycling, it's estimated that 7.3m tonnes of waste from the global food industry would go directly into landfill.
The raw materials for our leather are sourced from within the UK and processed at Pittards' Yeovil site, about an hour away from the Lux studio in Bristol.
This makes for low leather manufacturing miles and helps reduce the overall carbon footprint of the finished item.
Pittards has long been a leader in the elimination of sensitive chemicals, such as Azo dyestuffs and set the benchmark with its PFC (poly-fluorinated chemicals) free water resistant treatment ahead of the fabric industry.
Once at our studio we use only green electricity from Ecotricity. And all our designs are hand made within a short distance from our Bristol studio. We take the greatest care so that each item we make should last you a lifetime.
